"The tradition of the oppressed teaches us that the 'state of emergency' in which we live is not the exception but the rule..." Walter Benjamin 1940This may not be any help, but at least it's true.bestP
Les dessins sont plus déchirants les uns que les autres.J'espère que le pire est passé.

OK. It's after midnight in Chicago. It's time already for the fucking cease-fire. My heart can't take this shit anymore. I would rather die than see my friends go through this shit for another second. CEASE FIRE ALREADY - PLEASE!!!tell me I can go on living--or not.michael
let's hope the news tell the true...You are my thoughts, Fran (friend of Paed)
I am glad to meet you in website. But I am sorry. I am in South Korea (Republic of Korea). I remember the video game, name of "Beirut" when I was teenages in early 80's. One guy shot the soldiers and destroyed the tank in the ruin of Beirut. I didn't know why the guy kill the soldiers and why the city was destoryed in that game. I haven't known yet the proper reason why the Beirut has been destoying. But I could know that the sorrow in your heart from your blog.
hello michael, paul, and all the new and old friends, well, since 8 this morning, it seems that the cease-fire is trying to get here. the problem is that it may take a long time before an effective end of this stupid war. i do not believe it will be easy, but i hope that i am wrong.it has to stop as michael says. it had to stop yesterday before today. it had to not start in the first place.i really hope it is ending soon because i am beginning to get really tired. my body is almost saying: "not with me anymore".we need to rest.we need to go back to our homes.we need to build back our homes.we need to burry our deads.we need to stop resisting.
Same from me! Hope everyone in your circle came through this ok.Bill
...i second that. peace has to come back, even if it takes still some time to fully arrive. warm greetings from cologne. udo
BisessrTHE DIALECTIC EMPIRE STRIKES BACK !!!
"Damn the governmentDamn their killingDamn their liesDry your eyesSoulmate dry your eyesdry your eyes..cause soulmates never die."
link doesn't work Michael :(
I HOPE YOU -AND ALL TH LEBANESE PEOPLE- CAN STOP RESISTING FROM NOW ON BUT DON'T DARE EVEN TO THINK ABOUT STOPPING TO DRAW DEAR MAZEN!WE ARE ADDICTED ;-)
great work. Is there any way one can use yourtruly brilliant work framed but unedited as part of an exhibit- completely non-profit- to promote awareness in this country the U.S aboutwhat is going on.
oh ye.i can say the same words. the north of israel loks alot like lebanon. burned, sad and ruined. and belive me mazen we also need to rest. we need ro rest from years of fightingswe need to go back to our homes that were bobed for 32 days non stop. we need to build back our lifes.we need to burry our deads.
My best wishes to Lebanon and to you personally.I wish you Peace. Salaam.
Paul quoted Walter Benjamin. Sad but true. The talking heads are having their say today. Nasrallah claims Hezbollah has Won, George Bush and the Israeli cabinet says the Israelis have won. When will we become evolved enough to accept the fact that no one ever wins a war? At this very minute there are mothers crying for their lost children, the cries sound the same in any of the worlds languages. What must be done to stop the hatred? I hope you and Evan are ok.Bill
Mazen - your work is stunning. the visual diary of the exasperating fluctuations of a psyche beseiged by the madness of war and the chutzpah of power. Imiki_ part of the rebuilding one would hope might include profound cultural transformation and soul searching.
