I can "hear" your drawings Mazen.
I have sent your blog on to others so they can "hear" you too. I will keep listening, praying and playing.

mazen... i can understand your not coming to the US now. it is right for you to stay, but i worry for you... worry for all of you, your son, your family and your country. so.. you are there among the bombs, maintaining your twisted humor and playing your trumpet!! maintaining... your drawings are disturbing and intensely beautiful. i am at a loss for words looking at them. i am sweating it out in italy now looking at your blog for the first time. i am with giuseppe ielasi and alessandro bosetti right now. we are all reading and looking. we've been through all the comments. i am overwhelmed... and can only begin to imagine and not at all imagine what you are going through right now. all of you... all my love and hope to you and yours mazen. to lebanon. to beirut. may you come out of the ashes still whole in spirit and brighter than before. we will meet again soon i am sure. and evan and iven have still to make some severe trouble together... ciao for now, audrey

We can rely on CNN for the unsavory sounds... your words and spirit are amazing spots of light in a very dark and stupid situation brought about by intolerance, too many weapons and WAY too many crazys surrounded by WAY too many innocent civilians. PLEASE stay safe and away from windows, etc.
I shall light a candle for your safety and say some prayers for your strength.

Cher Mazen, no ned to draw this sound.I've already heard this "sound" . I heard it whan I was 8-year-old girl in Iran.(when the war between Iraq and Iran began in 1980). I heard it when the first bombs have been dropped on our cities "from sky". I heard it when the first missile arrived in Tehran. I know precisely what the lebonens felt "ont vécu" at that moment. I hate WAR. Vive la paix! viva peace!

Yes. Wiill spread the word about your words and drawings as well as I possibly can, in this little corner of the world where the sound of bombs and sight of their effect is a mere abstraction on the television. I don´t know what to say, because I don´t feel I know or undersatand anything (I can only guess what you are going through), but "THANK YOU" is a start. Thank you and rave on. If there is anything I can do, say what & when. Hang on in there.

and what is so funny that is that i have been reading books and novels about the cilvil war in lobnan, watching movies as well, and wondering what i would have done if i was there at that time, would i leave my Egypt for Lebanon and do something, and now i got the answer; I WOULD STAY AT HOME TRYING TO REDRAW THE OUTLINES OF MY FUTURE WHILE IM NOT SURE WHETHER GOD HAS DECIDED FOR ME TO STAY ALIVE FOR ONE MORE DAY OR NOT ...GOD BLESS LOBNAN
