I've got a challenge for you! Are you up for it? Here's the catch. Words can refer to different things. When there is a risk of confusion, one tries to express herself through unambiguous words, right? well, it's the same thing with a drawing. As you know, the Star of David can refer to Israel and Judaism at the same time, so its use to criticise Israel could be interpreted (sometimes in bad faith) as being an attack against Judaism. So here's the challenge, can you come up with an unambiguous drawing representing Israel that cannot be interpreted as being hostile to judaism!
dear jcn, i think that the drawing/design we are talking about is clearly an attack against the state of israel, both because of the color i used for the star of david and the words written on the pack. besides, i think i did enough drawings (check old posts on this blog) that criticize israel without ever attacking judaism. anyway, whatever you say against israel would ALWAYS be interpreted as an attack against judaism by some people in order to dismiss your criticism. i remember a guy calling me anti-semite (while i am an arab, thus a semite myself!) because i said that ariel sharon is a butcher (it is an underrated insult for such a guy i know). thanks for your comment. mazen
